CBD topicals and Thanksgiving

Well, this blog is  loosely about CBD topicals and Thanksgiving. After all, Lost Remedy produces CBD topicals for health and beauty. Plus, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. This won’t be a long blog, but it will be heartfelt.

It’s no secret that 2020 has been one for the books. We’ve been plagued by the Coronavirus, watched the economy take a deep nose dive, and witnessed a contentious presidential election that the president has not conceded. For most of us, the year has been unprecedented, unreal, unbelievable and unnerving. Well, 2020 isn’t over yet, but I thought I’d look at reasons to give thanks for a year distinguished by a lot of un words.

Give thanks

I’ll get us started. I’m thankful that I don’t live in a country where I need to seek asylum from death, starvation and hate. OK, hate seems to have ramped up in America, but we are still not hunkering down to the sounds of bombs.

I am thankful that a COVID vaccine is much closer to fruition. I’m thankful for the dedication of health workers who go into the fray every day. We call them frontline heroes.  But they really are saints.

I’m also thankful for family and friends. These relationships have taken on an even deeper meaning for me. The challenge of not being able to be together has somehow, don’t ask me how, brought us all closer together. With the spike in COVID cases, we all care enough to keep each other safe by celebrating virtually instead of in person. An added bonus is that because of fewer people traveling, our air is in better shape than it’s been for years. Emissions are estimated to be down 9% this year because people aren’t traveling. Something to be thankful for.

Take a closer look

Although there doesn’t appear to be a lot of bright light on the horizon, it may not be as dark as we have begun to think it is. In fact, I’d like to introduce you to Tom, the trailer trash turkey, sure to make you smile. This tacky turkey appears mysteriously in different family members’ homes around the Thanksgiving holiday, naked and unadorned. Then each year we try to enhance his plumage to make him appear to be a high-class objet d’art, when alas, he’s just a cheap basket. He looks good, though, doesn’t he? This year, we’ll gaze upon Tom in a photograph and recall the fun we’ve had together under Tom’s blank gaze, and look to next year when we’ll be together again.

From Lost Remedy to you, happy Thanksgiving. We give thanks for you. Let’s all give thanks and pay it forward with care and concern for our communities, families and friends. Mask up y’all, sanitize your hands, and celebrate socially distanced.
