Natural, eco-friendly hemp-derived CBD topicals
Hemp-derived CBD topicals
Versatile hemp-derived CBD topicals offer many healthful benefits. Although we’ve known about hemp’s potential uses and benefits for centuries, in recent decades it’s been unfairly maligned. In late 2018, Congress passed the Farm Bill. Now CBD is accepted and sought nationwide. As a result, CBD products are flooding the market. Consumers, faced with a wide variety of products and claims, are confused. So, let’s look at how hemp-derived CBD topicals work.
The endocannabiniod system
Every body, human or animal, has an endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is made up of CB-1 and CB-2 receptors, which are located throughout the body. For instance, each receptor has its role to play, but also works with other receptors to maintain balance, or homeostasis.
Cannabinoids, or CBD, activate the CB receptors in the skin. Applied topically, CBD efficiently and effectively triggers the ECS response. Although CBD on its own is a powerful anti-inflammatory, when combined with carrier and essential oils, its power multiplies helping to target a particular issue.
What to look for in hemp-derived CBD topicals
When you buy topicals, look for hemp derived CBD oil that is free of toxins and impurities. Because hemp absorbs toxins from the earth, make sure it was grown organically. You should be able to easily find the ingredient list for topicals. So, check to make sure you’re getting a product with organically sourced ingredients. Avoid products with added chemicals and artificial ingredients that might do more harm than good. For more information, check out our FAQ page.
In 1902 Thomas Edison said, “There were never so many able, active minds at work on the problems of disease as now, and all their discoveries are tending toward the simple truth that you can’t improve on nature.”
