CBD and well-being

CBD has been shown to be beneficial for many conditions. But, what if you don’t have any specific condition and just want to stay healthy and keep illness at bay. Seems as though CBD for general wellness has become a trend, a wise one in my humble opinion. Here’s why.

Let’s start with the basics. Our bodies have many systems that regulate our health. One of them is the endocannabinoid system or ECS. It helps maintain homeostasis, or balance of the messages shuttled about among our cells. If sickness, inflammation or injury occurs, the ECS gets to work resetting balance. By introducing CBD oil or products into your body, you nourish the ECS, helping it function optimally.

Endocannabinoid system and you

Here are some functions the ECS helps regulate:

·       Pain perception and inflammation

·       Digestive processes

·       Immune system function

·       Mood and emotional responses

·       The lifecycle of healthy cells

·       The reproductive processes

·       Thermal regulation and metabolism

·       Sleep and sleep cycles

·       Neuroprotection and muscle movement

Every day stress and environmental factors can compromise your ECS, which can create deficiency. Researchers tend to believe that this deficiency is the cause of multiple underlying health issues. But, CBD supplements can fill in where there are deficiencies, helping the ECS keep up its balancing act.

How the endocannabinoid system works

The ECS can be broken down into three components: endocannabinoids, receptors and enzymes. Here is what each does.

Endocannabinoids are molecules produced by your body. Two key endoccanabinoids, anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglyerol, are produced on demand to keep your internal functions operating smoothly.

Endocannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2, bind with cannabinoids to help regulate a deficiency. For instance CB1 receptors found in the central nervous system may bind with a cannabinoid to relieve pain. CB2 receptors on the other hand, manage the immune system and bind with cannabinoids to reduce inflammation, which is the culprit in many diseases

Enzymes break down the endocannabinoids once their work is complete.

So you can see how supporting your ECS with CBD oil can help you maintain your health.

Full-spectrum CBD

Unless you’re being treated for a specific condition with a CBD isolate, full-spectrum CBD oil might be a better choice. Full-spectrum hemp oil (FSHO) contains all the cannabinoids and compounds found in the hemp plant. In addition, it contains many essential vitamins and minerals, fatty acids, proteins, chlorophyll, fiber, flavonoids and terpenes. FSHO contains dozens of cannabinoids. The most abundant is CBD, which makes up 90% of this full-spectrum oil. Other cannabinoids contained in hemp oil are CBD, CBG, CBN and trace levels of THC (under .2%).

Extracted FSHO also contains vitamins A, C and E, as well as B complex vitamins such as riboflavin, thiamine and niacin. In addition, it’s a source of vitamins not sufficiently present in many diets including beta-carotene. As stated above, this FSHO includes numerous minerals, fatty acids, proteins and a host of other components, which further enhance the healthful benefits of this unique oil.

So in a nutshell, you can do your body a solid by introducing a CBD oil supplement. Of course, you always want to be sure you are getting the real deal, so go check out our FAQ page or my blog describing what to look for. Don’t settle for anything less.
