Have you ever looked at the Lost Remedy products and thought they might be something you’d like to purchase, and then backed out because you wondered if CBD is legal? It’s a good thing to question. The short answer is, yes. But, here’s what you need to know to help you understand why we can make that claim.
First, our products are made from 100 percent hemp-derived cannabidoil, or CBD oil. Hemp is grown all over the world and is used for clothing, construction, food and topical ointments. In the United States, CBD from hemp is considered a nutritional supplement and therefore, legal.
However, cannabidoil can also be derived from marijuana, which is medically legal only in certain states. The reason one is legal and the other isn’t, is because of their chemical compounds. THC, the psychoactive component in marijuana, is on the federal government controlled substance list and is considered a drug. In order to use canabidoil from marijuana, you must live in a state that has legalized medical marijuana and have a prescription.
Hemp on the other hand, has negligible THC, meaning it is impossible to get high with CBD. As a result, its classification as supplement makes it legal anywhere in the United States.
Now clearly there are more differences between the marijuana and hemp plants, but for the sake of brevity, what I’ve outlined here is the fundamental reason the CBD in our products can be sent anywhere in the United States without concern for legality. But here is more in-depth information about the legality of CBD if you want more details about the different forms of CBD.
If you live outside the United States, however, you should check with your country’s customs department to find out if you can bring CBD into the country legally.
